Why Tioga County?
Home of the Pennsylvania Grand Canyon and seven lakes, Tioga County
is rich in natural and manmade resources. Small towns, picturesque
farms, and rugged forests make up this Northern Appalachian area,
a part of the country where neighbors still care about each other.
A population of 40,000 people lives within the 1,145 square miles
which make up Tioga County. Our residents, many of whose ancestors
cut timber and mined coal in this region, represent honesty, respect,
friendliness, and a work ethic handed down from generation to generation.
While Tioga County is a nature lover's paradise, it's also a short
drive from urban areas in both Pennsylvania and New York. A rural
area with easy access to the big city, Tioga County is the perfect
mix of country living and metropolitan opportunity.
